The next opportunity for member voting will be to fill positions on the WSSDA board of directors and on WSSDA committees. This voting will take place on November 23, 2019 during Director Area Election Meetings at the WSSDA Annual Conference. See the list of open positions.
The board has officer and non-officer positions. Officer elections are held annually in the fall. Non-officer positions are filled by elections held during Director Area Caucus Meetings at WSSDA’s annual conference. All board members begin their terms at the conclusion of the conference.The board exercises general supervision over WSSDA’s affairs and approves WSSDA’s annual budget. The board also carries the duty of effecting policies and programs adopted at meetings of WSSDA. To learn more, see Article VII, Section 4 in the WSSDA Bylaws.
WSSDA has four elected committees: Legislative, Resolutions, Nominating and Interscholastic Activities. Elected committee members serve two-year terms.Duties of each of the elected committees are explained in Article IX of the WSSDA Bylaws.
Some advisory committees and task forces are filled through appointment by the WSSDA board president. Those selected to serve typically do so as a representatives of their particular director area.
