Legal Services

WSSDA staff members can provide some assistance on many questions that have legal implications, but do not act as legal counsel for school districts or directors.

When a particular legal concern affects your district, you are urged to consult directly with an attorney. Alternatively, each local board has the authority to engage private counsel. Many school districts have an attorney of record.

The Washington Council of School Attorneys is made up of attorneys with extensive experience representing Washington school districts.
