Strategic Advocacy

Led by education policy professionals, WSSDA’s strategic advocacy branch exists to:

  • equip all school board members with the knowledge, tools, and resources to engage in effective year-round legislative advocacy at the state and federal levels
  • support, initiate or oppose legislation in accordance with WSSDA’s advocacy platform

WSSDA’s advocacy platform is comprised of legislative and permanent positions adopted at General Assembly that reflect the beliefs, values, and interests of Washington’s 1,477 school board members.To support all Washington school boards, WSSDA’s advocacy staff work to provide service that is:
