As a national purchasing cooperative, BuyBoard obtains reduced prices for its more than 1,900 members. Washington districts that sign up can earn cash back from WSSDA! No need for bid preparation. Contracts on BuyBoard have already undergone a competitive procurement process.From over 1,300 Washington state vendors, districts can purchase a wide range of supplies including fuel, instructional materials, buses, library books and modular buildings to name just a few. One of Washington’s largest districts that purchases through BuyBoard has been audited and passed without issue.

Who is behind BuyBoard?

The National School Boards Association collaborated with the Rhode Island Association of School Committees and the Maryland Association of Boards of Education to create the National Purchasing Cooperative’s BuyBoard program. Endorsed by several state school boards associations and administered by the Texas Association of School Boards, the program’s purpose is to obtain reduced prices for its members through the benefits and efficiencies of a purchasing cooperative.

Free for School Districts

WSSDA membership entitles school districts to become a BuyBoard member for free. Once you sign up for BuyBoard, your district has the ability to make purchases from an approved list of vendors that have gone through a competitive bidding process.

Compliance Standards

Contracts and vendors awarded through BuyBoard have been competitively procured to assist members with compliance with local and state procurement requirements and a documented audit trail.

Your board of directors passes the model resolution authorizing participation in BuyBoard.

Complete the form at buyboard.com/join and sign a memorandum of understanding with WSSDA.

At the point of purchase, ask the vendor if they have a BuyBoard contract for the items you are buying.

Report your purchase to BuyBoard by sending a record of the invoice or purchase order.
